Parade of Lights

This past Saturday, Longmont had a Parade of Lights that ran about 6 or 7 blocks through downtown Longmont. Our previous CARE group decided to go to the parade then meet at the leaders house for a soup dinner and to exchange white elephants gifts. They had bands, cars, and trucks with trailers that drove through, all decorated with Christmas lights. We were glad that it was not super cold that evening, but even with several layers, hats, gloves and scarves we still were chilled by the end. The kids enjoyed the parade, especially the candy :).

Karis seems to really like parades and asked if she could go to another one tomorrow. She still remembers the Fourth of July parade we went to in Niwot with Granddad and Grandma last year and asks to go back. Karis reported that the drums were the best part of the parade. Interesting since they were very loud and she does not usually like loud noises. Corban reported that the drums were NOT his favorite part, it was Santa Claus at the end.
