We made it home this morning at 4 AM MST, practically falling asleep before our heads hit the pillow. We left Ed and Lana's house at 7:30 AM, there time and were able to drive straight through, making excellent time. If you remember, it took 25 hours to get to their house, largely due to snow in Kansas we presume. The return trip, still obeying the speed limit, only took 22 hours. Zippity doo dah.
One special treat that helped was a portable DVD player that we received for Christmas from Kristen's parents! We don't have many DVDs, and the ones we did have were at home, so we borrowed several from Eddie and Shannon. The DVD play was a nice improvement to the large and extremely loud mini-TV-VCR combo we had used on the way to TN. This DVD player has separate screens with headphone jacks on each display, so the kids can listen to the movie and we can read or listen to our books on tape. Pretty nice!
