Karis had her first "big" wreck on the bike yesterday. She was actually riding the neighbor-kids bike, which is small like the kind she prefers. She won't touch the bike we bought her for her birthday because it is "too big and scary", even though she has ridden it a fair amount and never crashed. Strange.Anyway, no one saw the crash, but it was apparently pretty dramatic. The neighbor boy said she slid a long way on the concrete. I was outside working on Ed's garden with him and I did not hear any crash, crying or anything, just a quite knock on the fence from the neighbor kid telling me Karis got hurt. When I found her, she was laying in the grass on her back holding her tummy. She has a bump on her forehead, scrape on the shin and various other scrapes as well.
Later, she was claiming to have had a heart attack from her bike wreck, but we now understand that she must have lost her breath. That seems to have scared her pretty bad.
She appears to be OK this morning, although she is claiming her jaw hurts when she chews and would not eat cereal because of the "pain". She ended up eating some oatmeal instead, so hopefully this "pain" will go away quickly.

Oh, my. Poor Karis. She looks pretty bummed up, like she was in a major accident. So sorry. Hope she heals quickly and can eat again soon! Until them a lot of TLC will be required, I guess.
Karis's jaw was indeed hurt. We could see swelling on the side of her face later in the evening. Thankfully, the next day it was much better and she was not complaining while eating. It is amazing the way God has made our bodies to heal themselves.
